Lucy Tauber Lucy Tauber

Lucy Tauber Architecture is a multi-disciplinary practice founded in 2002. In recent years we have focussed on refurbishments within the hospitality industry working with clients such as The Big Chill Bar, Margot Bakery, and Climpsons and Sons Coffee Roasters and the United Synagogue.

The practice has a creative yet commercial focus. Projects are explored through a "curiosity-led" approach with strategies being presented through engaging communication methods. Whether through diagrams or 3D computer visualisations, the aim is to process thinking, successfully communicate ideas and generate discussion until a shared vision is realised.

Key to change in Shoreditch since 1999, I am associated with East London and its art culture. With involvement in both design and social projects in Shoreditch spanning over 15 years, I have developed a deep understanding of regeneration, and the challenges facing retail in a changing climate.

The practice also oversees commercial projects and develops business strategies through a unique linked-up approach that connects architecture, interior design, graphics, product, marketing and events. Thinking and making form an important part of the creative process and ensure a unique and bespoke client-led response.

I gain great satisfaction from teaching and passing on my knowledge of industry in terms of Design Process, Ideation, Communication and Construction. I set ups and run the 1st year programme of the BA (Hons) in Interior Design at Kingston Art School (the top rated Interior Design course in the UK according to the Guardian League Tables) and hold the permanent post of Senior Lecturer.

Beyond Practice and Teaching, I am involved in my local community having sat as Chair of the Whittington Estate (Highgate Newtown) Tenants and Resident's Association for 3 years and have developed insight that enables me to work with large and diverse communities..
